Bed bugs are rapidly multiplying and spreading. No facility
is immune from this human parasite. One or two bugs can become a major problem. As owners, or managers
of facilities, you need to know:- Are bed bugs present in my facility?
- Where are they hiding?
- How many rooms are involved?
- Has
my pest control company successfully treated the involved sites?
Until recently
only an extensive search conducted by a trained human inspector would have been able to provide
answers - but with only a 30% accuracy rate!
Having that same search done by a trained bed bug inspection dog would
provide those same answers with a 97% accuracy rate!

- Proactive Inspections
Customized inspections of your property to find or rule out the presence of bed bugs. Such
inspections can be scheduled quarterly or more frequently if desired.
- Targeted Inspections
Inspections targeted to a specific room, floor,
or other area where you suspect bed bug activity. These inspections help your pest control company more effectively target
their pesticide applications to those exact places where the bed bugs are hiding.
- Post treatment Inspections
Inspections after your pest control
company has treated an area. These inspections confirm whether or not the treatment has been successful in eradicating
the bed bugs.

Frequently
Asked Questions

Why would I need to call in a bed bug detection dog
if my housekeeping staff is already trained to look out for bed bugs?
In short, because by the time your staff sees evidence of the presence of bed bugs they are already widespread in
a room or rooms. The least costly way to deal with bed bugs is through early detection. The more widespread the
the problem, the more costly it is to eradicate. A trained bed bug detection dog can detect bed bugs at the egg stage,
even inside walls with a 96% accuracy rate. By comparison, a trained professional human inspector has an accuracy rate
of only 30% and cannot see inside walls.
Why do I need a bed bug detection
dog when I already have a pest control company?
It is very difficult
to see bed bugs, and almost impossible to see nymphs and egg clusters, unless there there is a large infestation. Bed
bug canine detectives have been trained to pinpoint the area where they have actually smelled the presence of live bed bugs
and or viable eggs. Dogs rely on scent rather than vision. A dog's sensitivity to odors is 10 to 100 times
greater than humans. Dogs can tell the difference between live bed bugs and dead ones, between cast skins and eggs.
Besides having greater sensitivity to odors, a dog can throughly search a room in minutes-far less time than it takes
a trained technician relying on visual clues.
Using a bed bug detection dog for regularly
scheduled inspections in conjunction with targeted treatment by your pest control company will provide the least costly way
of dealing with your bed bug problem.Using a bed bug detection dog can also greatly reduce the potential damages of fraudulent
claims or actual lawsuits about bed bug bites.
How do you conduct an on
site inspection?
When our team arrives, the handler will ask several
assessment questions and then the team begins the search. Guided by the handler, the dog actually sniffs his way through the
area, searching out the scent of live bed bugs, nymphs, and viable eggs.
The actual
time frame of the search depends on the size of the area being inspected.
Would
this be disruptive to my quests or residents?
No. We arrange site
visits at the best time for you. Our inspections are short. We can inspect a room in minutes on average. We don't
move furniture, or upset the layout of a room. Our team searches a room by walking through it. In comparison, a trained
human inspector relies on vision, and therefore would need to move furniture and disrupt the layout of the room to perform
the inspection.
How do you maintain confidentiality?
We arrive in unmarked vehicles. We have no signs and do not wear any identifying
uniforms. Our team enters your facility in the same manner as any of your guests, residents, or visitors. We do not share
any information you provide unless you give us permission to do so (e.g. providing references).
